Functions to tell about past event.

A recount text consist of three parts:

1)      Orientation

2)      A series of events

3)      Reorientation

Orientation which fells the reader who are involved in the story,what happen,where the story takes place, and when it happens.

A series of events tell the sequence events of. These events are described in a chronogical order. Reorientation fuctions to summarize the event.

Example:

My Holiday

  Last holiday after national examination. I went to Bali for 4 days with my family . in Bali, we went to many places. In first day, after my brother and I aarrived in Ngurah Rai airport we went to Sanur Beach , Kuta beach and ulluwatu for watched Kecak Dance . in second days ,we went to garuda wisnu kencana ,tanah Lot ,and ate seafood in Jambaran . Tanah Lot was very beautiful.

The significant Lexicogrammatical featurs:

-       Use of simple past tense

-       Use of temporal conjuctions (when,after,before,next.later,then)

-       Use of personal pronoun(I,we)

Recount text uses the past tense sentences structure:

(+)s + verb past + object

(-) s + did not + verb base + object

(?) did + s + verb past + object + ?
